Athena OS Code of Conduct

Introduction

The Athena OS community is dedicated to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone, regardless of their background or experience level. Our community is built on the principles of mutual respect, collaboration, and continuous learning. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

Our Standards

To ensure a positive and inclusive community, we commit to the following standards:

  1. Be Respectful: Always show respect for others and their contributions. Disagreements are natural but must be handled with kindness and professionalism.

  2. Be Inclusive: Embrace diversity in all its forms. Ensure that everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of their background, identity, or experience level.

  3. Be Considerate: Remember that your actions and words affect others. Strive to create an environment where everyone can participate and feel safe.

  4. Be Constructive: Offer constructive feedback and be open to receiving it. Focus on helping others improve and grow.

  5. Be Collaborative: Work together to achieve common goals. Share knowledge and resources freely to foster a collaborative learning environment.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered unacceptable within our community:

  1. Harassment: Any form of harassment, including but not limited to, offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion.

  2. Abuse: Threats, violent language, or aggressive behavior that intimidates or demeans others.

  3. Discrimination: Any discriminatory behavior or exclusionary comments.

  4. Disrespect: Disrespectful, derogatory, or unprofessional language and actions.

  5. Disruption: Deliberate disruption of discussions, presentations, or other community activities.

Enforcement

Community leaders are responsible for enforcing this Code of Conduct. Instances of unacceptable behavior may be reported to the community leaders at keeper@athenaos.org. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

Consequences:

  • A warning for minor first-time offenses.
  • Temporary suspension from community activities for repeated or severe offenses.
  • Permanent ban from the community for extreme or repeated violations.

Reporting

If you experience or witness any unacceptable behavior, please report it to the community leaders at keeper@athenaos.org. Reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.
